Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Training: Oversee the training of maintenance technicians, assign tasks, and provide feedback to ensure a high level of performance.
  • Work Assignment and Prioritization: Assign work and set priorities for maintenance technicians to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Work with engineers to troubleshoot issues, install new equipment, and provide technical support on projects.
  • PLC Programming and Design: Troubleshoot, program, and design Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • After-Hours Service: Act as the after-hours service contact when needed to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Machinery Maintenance: Maintain, set up, and operate machinery equipment, including lathe, mill, surface grinder, and robotics.
  • Materials Management: Prepare materials lists for machine repairs and fabrications.
  • Independent Maintenance: Independently perform and adjust routine maintenance and operation of machinery equipment.
  • Service Calls: Independently respond to service calls to inspect, diagnose, fabricate, troubleshoot, and repair machine problems.
  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly PMs: Independently perform daily, weekly, and monthly PMs to ensure equipment is running at optimal levels.
  • Advanced Fabrication: Perform advanced fabrication of parts and equipment using vertical mills, drill presses, welding equipment, and other tools.
  • Problem-Solving and Repair: Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, as well as problem-solving retrofits and emergency repairs.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain parts inventory for common replaceable items.
  • Operational Equipment: Operate Forklift, Overhead Crane, and Aerial Lifts as needed.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain daily recordkeeping, log books, and maintenance request forms using computer maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Continuous Improvement: Understand and participate in all aspects of the continuous improvement process.
Requirements
  • Education: Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. A 4-year technical degree, Journey Worker Certification, or at least 15 years of equivalent job-related experience is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated competency in industrial maintenance. Successful demonstration of leading/mentoring maintenance repair technicians typically developed over several years in advanced machine repair capacity or position, preferably in a Tier 1 or 2 automotive parts manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Ability to regularly stand or walk for long periods of time. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration, repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling and high temperatures. While performing the job functions of this position, the employee frequently uses and works near powered motor vehicles, power tools, and automated assembly fixtures.
