Job Title: Manager, Financial Planning

Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial planning professional to join our team. As a Manager, Financial Planning, you'll be responsible for supporting the planning, analysis, reporting, and strategy across multiple channels at Petco, including retail stores and eCommerce. You'll work closely with the finance leadership team and partners with the merchandising team to provide strategic and analytical leadership supporting sales, margin, expenses, and other KPI's to drive results, identify risks, and deliver our committed financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support merchandising and finance leadership on strategic and analytical initiatives
  • Complete complex analyses in all aspects of Petco's business to help senior leadership understand and answer critical business issues and questions
  • Help establish monthly, quarterly, and annual tops down financial targets for sales, margin, and other ROI metrics for multiple categories and channels (retail stores & eCommerce)
  • Support the monthly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Form positive and close working relationship with Senior Management in all functional areas
  • Drive continuous improvement around performance reporting for business teams and senior leadership
  • Work with finance team and company leadership to provide direction relating to key performance indicators and business metrics used to manage the company
  • Support cross-functional teams with projects and needs as they arise
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in financial planning and analysis roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. Retail experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Some experience or exposure in strategic planning, scenario analysis, and business case development
  • A track record of success on high-performing teams
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software & systems and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Supervisory Responsibility

Directly supervise analysts to include interviewing, hiring, training, assignment delegation and follow through, performance review and disciplinary action including termination when necessary.

Work Environment

The majority of job duties are conducted while seated indoors at a computer terminal, with little or no exposure to hazards. Occasional travel may be required for financial presentations or training.
