Job Title: Customer Service Specialist

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Specialist to join our team at BBCN Bancorp. As a key member of our Branch Operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, sales, and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use excellent communication and active listening skills to learn about customers' financial needs, establish trust, and optimize sales opportunities.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and branch sales and service targets through recommendations of new and existing products and services.
  • Use a strong knowledge of our products and services to educate customers about features, benefits, and pricing.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, check cash, loan payments, and other transactions, including reject items and returned items.
  • Responsible for loss prevention in the processing of all transactions and duties.
  • Issue cashiers checks, bank checks, money orders, and travelers checks.
  • Keep workstations neat, clean, and well-stocked with supplies and brochure materials.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some experience in retail sales and customer service functions a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work with co-workers, customers, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This role requires sitting for most of the day, with occasional walking, standing, and bending. Keyboard and ten-key skills are required, with occasional handling of cash and other materials.

Microsoft Outlook: Intermediate

Microsoft Word: Intermediate

Microsoft Excel: Intermediate

Microsoft PowerPoint: Intermediate

BSA, CRA, Fair Lending and other Compliance Responsibilities:

Comply with BSA, CRA, fair lending, and other compliance issues as required by policies and procedures.

Inputs customer information to EZ teller for various transactions.

Reports any suspicious activities to Operations Manager/BSA officers.

Verifies customer name and payee/beneficiary name to OFAC, NCCT for out-bound wire transfers and monetary instrument purchase, and new account.

Report matches with NCCT and OFAC to Operations Officer or Operations Manager for further instructions.
