POSITION SUMMARY

The Packaging Technician is responsible for upholding stringent sanitary standards throughout the preparation, setup, and operation of designated tasks, ensuring compliance with high-quality packaging specifications within a safe working environment. This role also emphasizes continuous improvement in quality across all operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and oversee assigned machinery to identify product defects.
  • Execute job functions in alignment with established quality control protocols, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Accurately complete all job-related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, equipment, and materials consistently.
  • Conduct cleaning tasks to ensure sanitary conditions before, during, and after job transitions.
  • Produce finished products that are free from defects, properly labeled, and compliant with established standards.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and other necessary equipment to fulfill essential job functions.
  • Alert Supervisor or Manager regarding any discrepancies related to safety, quality, operations, or health.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills.
  • Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines at all times.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule to accommodate business needs.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

PACKAGING TECHNICIAN I

  • Proficient in two Packaging Zones (Zone 4 + 1 additional)
  • Familiarize with required SOP and cGMP guidelines for the role.
  • Conduct quality verifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Foster teamwork and communication.
  • Complete all training guide requirements.
  • Independently operate packaging equipment, perform packing, stacking, and line quality checks.
  • Ensure accurate documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues independently.
  • Knowledgeable in safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Complete all established Technician I requirements within a specified timeframe.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
