Microbiologist I

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Microbiologist I to join our team at Merieux NutriSciences. As a Microbiologist I, you will be responsible for conducting microbiological analyses, ensuring the quality of laboratory procedures, and providing technical support to the laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct microbiological analyses, including testing of samples using various microbiological methods.
- Ensure that laboratory procedures are performed within specified quality guidelines.
- Provide technical support to the laboratory team, including method and process implementations.
- Perform confirmation tests on suspect samples to identify the strain of bacteria.
- Read, calculate, and record data in the Laboratory Information Management System.
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- One year of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in microbiology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The incumbent will work in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory. Safety equipment, such as gloves, laboratory coat, and eyeglasses, may need to be worn depending on the testing process.
Schedule:Tuesday - Saturday (on average 8 - 10 hours of OT a week). Start Time: 10:30 AM. End Time: Shift is completed once all samples are processed for the day.
Pay: $21.50 (concrete, OT paid at time and a half)
