Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Elgin Sweeper. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, and document transactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Cycle Counts: Perform cycle counts in accordance with established procedures to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Order Fulfillment: Pull orders and components, and deliver them to the appropriate areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all 5S initiatives.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve identified problems with orders, and use problem-solving skills to find solutions.
  • Inventory Management: Use software systems to verify the status of inventory, and maintain accurate records.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments, including welding and operations, to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Adaptability: Be able to perform work duties outdoors as needed, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Certification: Must be able to pass Forklift Certification process.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer operating and data entry skills, with knowledge of shipping software.
