High-Performance Compiler Engineer for Machine Intelligence
7 days ago
At Gensyn, we are on the forefront of a revolution in machine intelligence. As the off-loading of knowledge and decision-making to search engines gives way to vast neural networks, our Protocol enables machine intelligence to flourish alongside human intelligence.
We are seeking a skilled Compiler Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Protocol. In this role, you will be responsible for lowering deep learning graphs from common frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow to an Intermediate Representation (IR) for training and inference, with a focus on ensuring reproducibility.
You will also write novel algorithms for transforming intermediate representations of compute graphs between different operator representations. Additionally, you will own two of the following compiler areas:
- Front-end: You will deal with the handshaking of common Deep Learning Frameworks with Gensyn's IR for internal IR usage. You will write Transformation passes in ONNX to alter IR for middle-end consumption.
- Middle-end: You will write compiler passes for training-based compute graphs, integrate reproducible Deep Learning kernels into the code generation stage, and debug compilation passes and transformations as you go.
- Back-end: You will lower IR from middle-end to GPU target machine code.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in compiler knowledge, including a base-level understanding of traditional compilers such as LLVM and GCC, as well as graph traversals. They will also possess solid software engineering skills, having significantly contributed to and shipped production code. Furthermore, they should have a good understanding of parallel programming, specifically as it pertains to GPUs.
The salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a share of equity and token pool. We offer fully remote work, with relocation assistance available for those who wish to relocate after being hired. Our benefits package includes competitive health insurance, paid sick leave, and four company retreats around the world per year.
We value direct feedback, embracing an extreme learning rate, and rejecting waste in meetings. If you are highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working in an applied research environment with high autonomy, we encourage you to apply.
