Registered Nurse, Inpatient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our inpatient care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver and manage patient care from admission to discharge, tailored to the developmental age of the patient population.
- Perform patient assessment and reassessment according to standard procedure.
- Develop and coordinate individual patient care plans, including discharge planning.
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical settings.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to others, based on job description and competency level.
- Document patient care according to standard procedure.
- Develop, implement, and document education plans for patients, families, and significant others.
- Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, therapies, and operate equipment according to policy and procedure.
- Assist physicians with treatment and procedures as required or directed.
- Participate in and support Nursing Governance activities.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth and assist in education and development of staff.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS is a requirement for every RN, unless advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit-specific certifications and competencies.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.
