Land Surveying Project Leader | Hybrid Role
Join VHB's innovative Geomatics team in the New England region as a Land Surveying Project Leader, where you will play a crucial role in managing diverse surveying initiatives.
We seek a highly experienced professional in Land Surveying to oversee a variety of projects, such as boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, highway surveys, and subdivisions.
This position requires an individual with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary technologies in the surveying field and a proven history of successfully directing land surveying projects. The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative atmosphere and demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills.
We provide the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project aspects, including budget, scope, and timelines for various land survey projects.
- Oversee project staff and maintain client relationships.
- Conduct and/or supervise surveying calculations.
- Analyze and interpret public records research, including deeds and plans relevant to the project.
- Perform field checks and ensure quality control of all deliverables.
- Coordinate survey activities with other teams in an integrated service setting.
- In-depth knowledge of all facets of Land Surveying, including legal requirements and boundary determinations.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering, architectural, and structural drawings.
- Experience with electronic instruments, field data collectors, AutoCAD, Civil 3D software, and GPS technology.
- Familiarity with local subdivision and zoning regulations.
- Able to lead and oversee construction layout services.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Motivated to guide and mentor colleagues.
- 10+ years of professional experience in land surveying/geomatics, including project management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- PLS license is preferred.
- Experience with energy projects, including solar, transmission, and distribution, is a plus.
