Nurse Manager Assistant

As a Nurse Manager Assistant at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe and quality patient care on the unit. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, you will supervise staff and unit operations, providing direct patient care and ensuring that appropriate standards of professional nursing practice are maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee patient care activities, including staff allocation and scheduling, patient assignments, rounds, and investigation/resolution of patient care issues.
- Provide direct patient care consistent with the charge nurse/clinical registered nurse job description accountabilities, maintaining all clinical competencies outlined.
- Perform patient experience activities to ensure that patient experience expectations are met or exceeded, including role modeling, staff mentoring/coaching, patient rounds, service recovery, and problem resolution.
- Assist with continuing staff development, including clinical problem solving and decision making skills, and collaborate with clinical nurse educators to support new staff orientation and training.
- Perform administrative and quality management activities to ensure that quality expectations and regulatory requirements are met, including unit compliance with departmental, Prisma Health, safety, regulatory, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to perform human resources activities, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, staff rounding, and performance management of unit staff.
- Assist the Nurse Manager in maintaining unit budget by appropriate allocation and utilization of unit resources, and share accountability with the Nurse Manager for unit/department/organizational goal achievement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of RN experience in an appropriate area of nursing
- Current R.N. Licensure as recognized by South Carolina
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred
- Certified in nursing specialty preferred
