Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Foreign Language Teacher to join our team at West Virginia Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Spanish language and culture to students in grades 7-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional programs to address student needs
  • Communicate effectively with school administrators, personnel, and parents
  • Implement state foreign language curriculum and develop lesson plans
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and coordinate services with local agencies
  • Coordinate school foreign language activities and other duties as assigned by the principal
Requirements
  • Meets requirements for certification in grades 7-12, Foreign Language/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to analyze student needs and develop instructional programs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of content area and educational philosophy compatible with the West Virginia Department of Education
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and supportive environment with a team of dedicated educators. The position requires a 200-day contract and a salary based on the Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers.
