  • At Hennepin County, we seek a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team.
  • This position will be responsible for performing routine clinical diagnostic tests, collecting and processing specimen, and maintaining quality control procedures.
  • Responsibilities will include monitoring results, making corrections within laboratory procedures and protocols, and collaborating with Senior Medical Laboratory Technician and other clinical team members.
  • This is a full-time, benefit-earning position, internally classified as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • The ideal candidate will possess one of the following: An Associate's degree or higher as a Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited program, or completion of a comprehensive military laboratory science program.
  • Additionally, the candidate must be certified or eligible for certification within one year of hire as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) through written examination.
  • AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) certification is also preferred.
  • The selected candidate will use electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document patient results and supply monitoring and ordering as necessary.
  • The Medical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for creating and following lab safety regulations and guidelines.
  • This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
