Position Summary

The Ion Exchange Resin Technician is responsible for the preparation of resin, mobile equipment, and ion exchange resin tanks to ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves regenerating ion exchange resin and media using various chemicals, handling substances such as acids, bases, and salts. The technician will conduct quality control checks on the equipment and oversee tasks associated with Plant Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive resin from customer locations in tanks or mobile equipment, emptying them of exhausted media and preparing for regeneration.
  • Regenerate ion exchange resins and media utilizing acids, bases, and other chemicals.
  • Conduct quality control checks on equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, including tests for pH, specific ions, resistivity, and TDS.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of bottles/tanks and other service equipment, which may involve minor valve/PVC repairs, painting, and refurbishing as necessary.
  • Prepare resin tanks or mobile equipment by refilling them with regenerated media.
  • Separate ion exchange resins as required.
  • Uphold safety standards by wearing personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes, as necessary.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar manufacturing environment involving chemical handling, or at least 1 year of experience in plumbing, pump, or mechanical repair.
  • This position requires physical stamina, including frequent lifting and bending motions, as well as the use of hand tools and manual manipulation of products/equipment.

Education & Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of high school chemistry is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to undertake occasional site assignments for customer troubleshooting, operation, and installation.
