The Surgical Dental Assistant plays a vital role in delivering superior patient care, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes, and addressing our patients' needs.


Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Dental Assistant will assist surgeons during procedures by performing tasks such as tissue retraction, managing intravenous lines, and maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Conducts preoperative and postoperative tasks to enhance patient care.
  • Confirms patient identities and surgical sites.
  • Collaborates with the surgeon regarding the surgical procedure, including consent and exposure methods.
  • Maintains aseptic techniques throughout all procedures.
  • Ensures a clear operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning and irrigation tools.
  • Assesses the availability of necessary equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Obtains and examines sterile and non-sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Operates sterilization equipment.
  • Monitors patient status during surgery.
  • Obtains dental radiographs and imaging.
  • Completes clinical narratives for patients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • BLS certification is required or must be obtained within one month of hire.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • DAANCE certification is preferred.
  • Licensure as a dental assistant is preferred.
  • Radiology certification is preferred.

Sign-On Bonus Information

As part of our commitment to attracting and retaining exceptional talent, we offer a sign-on bonus of $3,000. The bonus structure includes receiving 50% after successfully completing 30 days of employment, with the remaining 50% provided upon successful completion of 90 days.
