Enterprise Risk Management Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Risk Management professional to join our team at The Hartford. As a key member of our Asset Liability Management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies to support the company's liabilities and surplus objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain risk models and benchmarks for our General Account portfolio.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gain a deeper understanding of General Account and Pension liabilities and risk characteristics.
  • Monitor and report on risk exposure and portfolio positioning relative to policy and constraints.
  • Maintain liquidity risk management framework and best practices for insurance operating companies.
  • Develop and leverage extensive investments knowledge, especially relating to fixed-income securities and derivatives.
  • Utilize statistical skills to enhance risk/asset/liability modeling.
  • Assist in developing risk/capital/ALM management/models for all aspects of the enterprise.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of four to six years of professional experience in a risk role at an insurance carrier.
  • B.A. or B.S. in finance or another quantitative discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in corporate finance, actuarial, investment, or other relevant roles may also be considered.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate finance and capital markets theory, financial management, and economics.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities required; experience with R preferred.
  • Basic understanding of pricing, valuation, financial, and risk management models helpful.
  • Convincing verbal communications, listening, and influencing skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer:

The Hartford offers a competitive annualized base pay range of $111,120 - $166,680, as well as a comprehensive total compensation package that includes short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
