Job Description

The Lynker Corporation is seeking a highly qualified Green Sturgeon Recovery Specialist to support a contract with NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) West Coast Region (WCR) California Central Valley Office (CCVO). This is a full-time, primarily remote position that is anticipated to begin on an unspecified date. The selected candidate will work up to 40 hours per week offsite and may be required to attend meetings at the John E. Moss Federal Building in Sacramento, CA or other West Coast Region locations for the purpose of meetings or fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide NMFS with conservation recommendations and suggested recovery actions for green sturgeon to the CCVO.
  • Support CCVO outreach/education of the public to increase understanding of and exposure to green sturgeon presence in the Central Valley.
  • Work with NOAA partner agencies on sturgeon science and help identify opportunities for useful studies and information application.
  • Attend Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) meetings to stay current on and advocate for science and monitoring efforts that advance the understanding of green sturgeon biology and ecology.
