DCI Donor Services Overview

We are seeking a board-certified Organ Recovery Surgeon to support our clinical, operational, and research activities.

Job Summary:
  • Surgically recover abdominal organs for transplantation and research in donor hospitals throughout our service area.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities as required to ensure adequate coverage for donor activity.
  • Maintain compliance with CMS and UNOS regulations, AOPO standards, and other medical/legal requirements.
  • Provide education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in the donation process.
  • Serve as an advisor between the organization and hospital staff during organ procurement.
Key Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified in general surgery with current licensure.
  • At least 5 years of experience in organ recovery and transplantation, medical management of organ donors, and/or critical care.
  • Availability for weekdays and weekends of donor recovery call.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact with all management, supervisors, and staff.
