We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician III to join our team at Central State Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals with mental illness, substance abuse issues, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including activities of daily living, attending to patients' problems and concerns, and promoting patients' awareness and coping skills.
- Work directly with patients to achieve therapeutic goals through evidence-based group and individual therapy, peer support, psychosocial rehabilitation, vocational training, and treatment for substance use.
- Use the least restrictive interventions per hospital policy to successfully avoid the use of seclusion and restraint, whenever possible.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Must have experience as a CNA/Aide/Tech providing direct care to individuals with mental illness, substance abuse issues, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities in a healthcare or mental health setting.
- Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
- Must be able to work ANY shift, weekends, and overtime hours.
