Radius Aerospace is a prominent producer of sheet metal components and assemblies for the aviation sector. We employ a variety of metal forming methods and specialized manufacturing techniques, catering to commercial, military, regional jet, helicopter, and general aviation industries.

Position Summary

The role involves planning, laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal components and products. The operator will read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to ascertain the sequence and methods for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal items. Responsibilities include marking dimensions and reference lines on materials to develop patterns or utilizing templates. The operator will set up and run fabrication machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers to cut, bend, block, and form materials. Additionally, the operator will inspect assemblies and installations to ensure compliance with specifications and may monitor quality in line with statistical process controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order, prepare, and inspect titanium hot form dies and tools for production.
  • Receive, clean, inspect, and treat titanium components for hot form/SPF processes.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate various machines including Hot Form/SPF Presses, ovens, Hydro presses, and Brake Presses to manufacture titanium parts to precise tolerances.
  • Interpret blueprints and sketches to determine the sequence and methods for forming titanium products.
  • Plan, lay out, form, and repair titanium components.
  • Control production machine operations according to established procedures for manufacturing titanium sheet metal products.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and timely.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and handle hot components safely.
  • Monitor and verify the quality of parts using various check fixtures and tools.
  • Maintain punctuality, follow supervisory instructions, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and adhere to workplace rules and procedures.
  • Be flexible with shift schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with hand/air tools preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and functional knowledge of relevant applications.
