About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Machine Learning Engineer to join our Product Operations team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing our machine learning strategy to drive innovation in our substantial supply chain and manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement machine learning solutions to optimize supply chain operations and manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy machine learning models
  • Perform ad-hoc statistical analyses to inform business decisions
  • Work closely with data engineers to generate detailed business intelligence solutions
  • Present analysis results to a wide range of audiences, including executives
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in machine learning algorithms, statistics, and data mining models, with an emphasis on large language models (LLM) or large multimodal models (LMM)
  • Master's degree in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and infrastructure required for fast iterations
  • Proficient in software development, particularly in Python, with extensive experience in ML and data science libraries
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of transformer models and their underlying principles
  • Proven experience with LLM and LMM development, including fine-tuning
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring teams
