Job Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in Metals, Energy, or Plastics to join our successful international manufacturer based in Cleveland, OH. As a key member of our product engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to Marketing and Manufacturing for existing product offerings. Your primary focus will be on evaluating alternative materials for cost reductions and improved performance, as well as helping to develop new product parameters, specifications, and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to Marketing and Manufacturing for existing product offerings.
  • Evaluate alternative materials for cost reductions and improved performance.
  • Help develop new product parameters, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Work with vendors concerning tooling and part fabrication issues.
  • Help consider regulatory issues, safety regulations, application procedures, quality acceptance criteria, verification analysis, design review requirements, and technical performance data necessary to support the sale of new and modified products.
  • Help extend existing products to affect greater use by customers and modify products to do specialized jobs required by customers and deemed necessary by marketing or engineering.
  • Help handle field complaints and product failures, analyze problems, solutions, or recommendations after proper engineering and laboratory studies, and consult with Materials Engineer to determine causes of material failures.
  • Work with Production, Quality Assurance, and Materials Engineer to help determine acceptable quality and resolve problems of questionable quality of products.
  • Help interpret engineering recommendations, customer specifications, and engineering drawings, and attend technical meetings, conferences, and specialized courses consistent with area of responsibility.
  • Develop and conduct material test procedures to comply with industry and customer specifications, and prepare and perform analysis in support of product development.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Creo/Pro-E, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD software.
  • Project management skills.
