Metrology Technician

Vigor Works is seeking a skilled Metrology Technician to join our team. As a Metrology Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our products.

The Metrology Technician will be responsible for performing dimensional inspections and fabrication support measurements using advanced measuring equipment and techniques. This includes working with FARO ARM, DEA Delta Coordinate Measuring Machine, FARO Laser Tracker, Sokkia Total Station / Laser Scanner, and CAM2 Measure10, OpenDMIS, and/or Spatial Analyzer software.

• Perform dimensional inspections and fabrication support measurements using advanced measuring equipment and techniques.
• Work with Lead Technician in identifying, segregating, and tagging non-conforming materials.
• Assist other Technicians with inspection / fabrication support activities as needed / requested.

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required. Prefer some secondary education.
• Previous experience in manufacturing and/or fabrication environment.
• Comprehension of 3D geometry / CAD or solid modeling.
• Knowledge of trigonometric functions and XYZ coordinate systems.

The Metrology Technician will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard or fabrication areas. The person must be able to walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, and work at heights. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
