**Job Summary**

Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Life Safety Specialist. As a Life Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities in a pool setting.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Be prepared for lifeguarding responsibilities in an appropriate attire, bring a towel, resuscitation face mask, disposable gloves, and any other necessary items daily.
  • Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in an emergency.
  • Enforce all DDI and general aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Attend DDI's mandatory 1-day New Employee Orientation.
  • Demonstrate understanding of DDI's Pool and Water Policies.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the individuals swimming assessments and supervision requirements.
  • Inspect the pool and surrounding area prior to allowing people to enter, and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
  • Complete records and reports, if any, after the session.
  • Never leave any individual alone in the pool area.
  • Lock the pool area when leaving.

**Requirements**

  • Current Lifeguard Certification
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification
