Job Title: Community Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Development Specialist to join our team at Positive Behavior Support Consulting & Psychological Resources, PC. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing quality job development and job training support and supervision to our clients.

Job Summary:

The Community Development Specialist will be responsible for developing internships, job training experiences, and social/recreational experiences based on the interest profile of assigned students. You will also facilitate person-centered planning as part of the development of a comprehensive transition plan for students 14-21. Additionally, you will develop skill acquisition plans and work cooperatively with behavioral support team to create plans that address identified needs in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized job development and training plans for students
  • Facilitate person-centered planning and transition planning for students 14-21
  • Collaborate with behavioral support team to develop and implement skill acquisition plans
  • Provide job coaching and support to students in their community
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Rehab, Counseling, Psychology, Speech, Education, or other Related Field
  • Talent/Interest in Community Bridge-Building
  • 40 hour training certificate for RBT or BCBA preferred, training certificate can be obtained on the job during the probationary period
  • Fingerprint clearance as required by NYSED

  • People Management: Work collaboratively as a team member, exhibit commitment, flexibility, reliability, and support, work effectively with districts, parents, and colleagues
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Collect information through observation, experience, reflection, and communication, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate processes to produce a comprehensive direction, demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a fresh perspective on problems, formulate workable solutions to complex problems
  • Quality/Compliance: Achieve a standard of excellence in work processes and outcomes, honor policies and regulatory requirements
  • Technical Literacy: Fluently use productivity software, including Google Workspace and practice management software
