Position Overview

We are in search of a talented and driven Senior Financial Analyst to become a vital member of our finance department. In this pivotal role, you will influence the financial direction of our organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Create and sustain financial models to project business performance. Offer comprehensive analysis and insights into financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting cycle and quarterly projections. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying discrepancies and suggesting improvements.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior leadership and stakeholders. Ensure the precision and promptness of all financial information.
  • Strategic Analysis: Perform ad-hoc financial assessments to support strategic initiatives, including market growth, product innovation, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Investment Analysis: Assess potential investment prospects and capital projects. Provide financial insights to facilitate investment choices.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various departments, including Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Product Management, to synchronize financial objectives with overall business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years in a quantitative role.
  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of involvement in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance controllership with measurable outcomes.
  • MBA or CPA certification.
  • Proficiency in Tableau.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) in analyses.
  • 2+ years of developing process enhancements through automation and analysis.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data mining and business intelligence.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
