Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and assisting with complex medical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and assistance for complex patients with physical and/or behavioral problems in a clinic setting.
  • Observe, identify, and respond to patients' needs for nursing, medication, and equipment-assisted care.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Collect patient data, including vital signs, weights, and blood glucose levels.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations, such as cardiac and pulmonary arrest.
  • Initiate and perform specialized procedures, including urinary bladder scanning and oxygen therapy.
  • Work effectively with patients, family members, and other staff members to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
  • Full, active, current, and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia.
  • English language proficiency, as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a variable day tour schedule. The selected candidate may be eligible for a recruitment incentive and may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual based on prior work experience or military service experience.
