We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Supervisor to join our team at New Braunfels Utilities. As a key member of our Substation Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our electric substations, ensuring reliable service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of substation crews, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve substation operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Collaborate with management to administer personnel processes, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with NBU safety and administrative policies, procedures, and practices.
- Develop and maintain effective customer service skills for communications with co-workers, customers, and the public.
- High School Diploma/GED and five years or more of experience in electrical maintenance, substation construction, project management, substation O&M, or electrical engineering.
- OSHA 10 certification and OSHA 30 certification successfully completed within the first six months.
- Previous NETA certification and SEL relay training preferred but not required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License to operate a company vehicle.
The Substation Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, often in confined spaces and at hazardous heights. The ability to work on and near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels is essential. The successful candidate must be flexible with time and tasks, including holidays, weekends, and/or after hours.
