Key Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/System Technical Staff, Engineering Technologist, to join our Custom Design and Emerging Technology team in Austin, Texas. This role will focus on delivering next-generation technologies through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop cutting-edge data center infrastructure solutions at the server, rack, and data center level.
  • Collaborate with DELL CTO, sales teams, and customers to design and develop data center solutions, including next-generation technologies for mechanical, direct liquid cooling, thermals, and power.
  • Manage multiple programs simultaneously, some at the customer solution level, others supporting new technology initiatives.
  • Design and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems.
  • Lead engineering efforts across various disciplines, mechanical, power, and thermals.
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams, ODMs, and suppliers; present to Dell leadership and external customers.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree; or 8+ years with a master's degree.
  • Proven experience solving complex thermal/mechanical problems from the IT hardware level to the data center level.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills; strong written and verbal communication skills, presenting to leadership and customers.
  • Proficient in CAD and various simulation software.
  • Deep understanding of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Expertise in Rack form factors, specifications, and industry standards.
