Job Title: Interventional Radiology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Specialist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As an Interventional Radiology Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Specialist will assist licensed practitioners in the completion of fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and Neuro-Interventional procedures while using sterile technique. This includes preparing patients for procedures, administering and documenting medications and radiation exposure, and performing high-quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the procedure and providing instructions.
  • Administer and document medications and radiation exposure.
  • Assist licensed practitioners in the completion of fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and Neuro-Interventional procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (required).
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required).
  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association (preferred).
  • Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) (preferred).
  • Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT) (preferred).
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
  • Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred).
  • 1 year experience in radiology with surgery experience in use of CR (preferred).
  • Training in EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred).
Working Conditions:

The Interventional Radiology Specialist may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, may be required to use physical restraints, and may be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. The individual in this position is required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
