Precision Machinist

Elgin Separation Solutions is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools to produce high-quality parts and components.

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate machine tools such as Vertical Turret Lathes, Drill Press, and Surface Grinder to produce parts and components.
• Quality Control: Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications and quality standards.
• Tooling and Maintenance: Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories on the machine.
• Problem-Solving: Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and maintenance staff to resolve machining problems and improve processes.

• Job Shop/Repair Background: Must have experience working in a job shop or repair environment.
• Lathe Skills: Proficient in lathe operations and mechanical abilities.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control, and measurement plans to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
• Tooling and Fixture Design: Ability to design and create jigs and fixtures to perform unconventional repairs.
• Machining Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of machining practices, measurement, and evaluation skills, and tooling applications.
