Job Summary:
As a valued member of the Forrest General Hospital team, the Nurse Aide plays a critical role in supporting the technologists and nurses in patient care activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting technologists and nurses with patient activities, ensuring procedure rooms are prepared and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assisting with patient preparation, including retrieving clinical history and associated paperwork.
- Verifying patient identity using hospital protocol and retrieving prior films/images as required.
- Transporting patients as needed and ensuring a safe and efficient experience.
- Providing exceptional patient care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles, and assessing patient needs to provide appropriate care.
Performance Expectations:
- Assist Nuclear Medicine Technologist with patients prior to, during, and after nuclear scanning procedures.
- Transport patients as required and prep patients for Nuclear Medicine and Cardiac personnel prior to stress tests.
- Utilize two patient identifiers when acquiring patients for procedures.
- Assist in other aide-type positions within the main department as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Previous hospital experience is desired.
Mental Demands:
- Ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, set priorities, and function under stress.
