Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Paralegal to join our team in the Tri-County Region Public Defender Office in Lewiston, Maine. The successful candidate will provide support to multiple attorneys, performing case preparation, investigative, and information gathering tasks necessary for providing effective assistance of counsel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain case files, documents, and records
  • Conduct research and gather information to support legal cases
  • Communicate with court officials, law enforcement, and other stakeholders
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation and presentation
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data management and calendar management
Requirements
  • Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work, with a focus on law firm, court, or legal services processes
  • Ability to research complex legal issues and analyze legal problems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, with a high level of accuracy
