Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Washington Gastroenterology. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, following established guidelines and physician orders.
  • Report test results in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with laboratory procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, federal, and regulatory requirements, including CLIA and CAP regulations.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctions of advanced technological equipment and initiate corrective action.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment maintenance and checks.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician degree required.
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • PTO accrual at a rate of 0.04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40-hour week).
  • Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire.
  • 8 standard holidays per year for which full-time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday.
  • 1 float holiday per year that can be scheduled.

This is an hourly position, and the anticipated compensation range is $24.65-$31.90. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses. The position is Monday-Friday, 5/8's, 40 hours per week.
