Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of laboratory testing procedures, from waived to high complexity, and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results. This role requires strong scientific knowledge and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory testing procedures, including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance activities are performed, including maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Process specimens and accession them into the laboratory information system
  • Enter test results and retrieve information from the laboratory information system
  • Provide technical support and answer questions from laboratory customers
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and contribute to the development of laboratory procedures
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a laboratory science or meets qualifications in CLIA
  • Medical Lab Technician Certificate within 6 months of hire
  • Basic computer skills and good verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year recent clinical laboratory experience as an MLT
  • Two (2) years of generalist experience as an MLT
  • Certified as an MLT preferred by date of hire/transfer
