The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University is on the lookout for dedicated individuals to fill Greenhouse Cultivation Specialist roles at the Cornell Agricultural Experiment Station. Our mission is to promote sustainable practices and enhance the well-being of communities through innovative research and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily management of the CALS Greenhouses
  • Oversee greenhouse systems and environmental conditions
  • Conduct plant irrigation, fertilization, and comprehensive plant maintenance
  • Follow sustainability protocols
  • Maintain effective communication with the greenhouse management team

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in greenhouse operations
  • Proven skills in horticultural plant maintenance
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting over 50 pounds and working in varying temperature environments
  • Valid driver's license in New York State

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in greenhouse management or related field
  • Experience caring for a diverse array of plant species
  • Knowledge of greenhouse Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and scouting techniques
