STS Technical Services is seeking qualified Aircraft Structures Technicians.

Position Overview:

The role involves executing structural repairs and manufacturing components. Technicians must demonstrate the capability to perform repairs in accordance with aircraft Structural Repair Manuals (SRM) and engineering directives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to approved repair and modification protocols for components or aircraft, referencing FAA-approved internal procedures, original equipment manufacturers (OEM) technical documentation, and work package guidelines.
  • Utilize measuring instruments to position and align subassemblies within jigs or fixtures, following blueprints and reference points.
  • Conduct inspections of completed tasks to identify any necessary rework prior to final approval; ensure that repaired components conform to established standards and tolerances.
  • Perform serviceability assessments on repairs utilizing specified test equipment as outlined in technical manuals.
  • Complete work package documentation by finalizing all designated operations with appropriate signatures or stamps.
  • Submit finished work to Quality Assurance for comprehensive inspection and recertification of airworthiness.
  • Securely fasten components and subassemblies using bolts, screws, or rivets.
  • Prepare parts for installation by cutting, trimming, and filing, while verifying fitting tolerances.
  • Drill holes in structures and subassemblies, attaching brackets, hinges, or clips as necessary.
  • Inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment for proper fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Identify and utilize various fasteners essential for component assembly.
  • Install units, parts, and components in structural assemblies according to blueprints and specifications, employing both hand and power tools.
  • Mark reference points and holes for part installation using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Provide documentation and information for engineering inquiries.
  • Comply with repair station procedures and company policies during aircraft or component maintenance.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A&P license is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in aircraft structures and proficiency in utilizing technical data and aircraft drawings for repairs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to fabricate components.
  • Capable of interpreting work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine repair or fabrication methods.
  • Skilled in repairing aircraft bodies or structures per specifications.
  • Familiarity with machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
  • Proficient in the use of air-powered hand tools and related equipment.
  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for optimizing manufacturing and distribution.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts as needed.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulations.
Working Conditions:
  • Must comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to wear a respirator as required by OSHA regulations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and hours as necessary.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to perform tasks above head and work at heights.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces and climb as required.
