Position Overview

The Senior IT Auditor at Darling Ingredients Inc. is responsible for orchestrating and executing comprehensive technical audits that assess the company's IT governance, protocols, systems, and operational workflows. This role entails the formulation of audit strategies, the generation of detailed reports, and the presentation of findings to various management tiers, ensuring meticulous standards for documentation accuracy and thoroughness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a collaborative and transparent relationship with both line and executive management, emphasizing shared business goals. Conduct integrated financial audits, system evaluations, and reviews before and after implementations, working closely with financial audit teams.
  • Devise a robust methodology for assessing application and general computer controls as part of the annual Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) evaluation; execute testing and meticulously document outcomes.
  • Assess the efficacy of controls governing information systems, record the procedures undertaken, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Work in conjunction with audit team members to strategize and formulate audit plans, risk assessments, and other preparatory documents.
  • Compile audit reports and convey insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify potential risks and controls associated with business processes, technical infrastructure, and significant IT system development projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of IT audit experience, encompassing both public accounting and industry roles, with a strong focus on SOX compliance.
  • Familiarity with auditing standards and frameworks, including the 2013 COSO Framework, PCI DSS, SOX, NIST, CIS, and COBIT.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a current certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  • Proven ability to leverage technology to enhance assignment effectiveness, improve efficiency, and expedite project completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT Security, particularly in areas such as Windows Active Directory, Linux, SQL Server, Oracle EBS, and JD Edwards.
  • Strong grasp of financial statements and the financial auditing process.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within teams and build relationships across IT, Finance, and operational management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to present complex issues to senior management and drive change for organizational benefit.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet project deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Capability to translate technical issues into business risks and implications.
  • A strong work ethic and a high degree of initiative.

Additional Information: This position may require domestic and international travel, approximately 5-10%.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Occasionally lifts items weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Extended periods spent seated at a desk in front of a computer screen.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
