UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist II to join our Core Laboratory team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory, providing excellent patient care and customer service, and resolving issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Work collaboratively with coworkers to provide excellent patient care and customer service
- Resolve issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff members
- Develop and implement coverage plans to ensure adequate staffing
- Ensure all laboratory quality indicators are met
- Act as a role model and advocate for compliance with policies and procedures
- Serve as a contact for outside departments and customers
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field
- MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification
- Two years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a standard schedule of Monday-Friday, 3:30pm to 12:00am, with 1 in 4 weekends and rotating holidays.
