Customer Service Specialist Job Description

This role is crucial to the success of our retail stores. As a Customer Service Specialist, you will work closely with wholesale and retail customers to understand their needs, provide expert advice on Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend solutions that meet their requirements. Your primary goal will be to deliver exceptional customer service, resolve any concerns promptly, and maintain a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
  • Determine customer needs and present relevant products and services
  • Build strong relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Meet sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Maintain accurate work order files and formulas
  • Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse as needed
  • Tint and mix products to customer specifications
  • Stock shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Assist with deliveries as needed
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable condition of assigned areas
  • Stay knowledgeable about products offered and discuss available options
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status
  • Must be able to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends
  • If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a "meets expectations" rating on the most recent performance appraisal
  • If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for the current position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
  • Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
  • Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
