Jail Operations Role

We are looking for a highly skilled individual to join our team as an Inmate Custody Specialist at the Polk County Jail. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the jail environment.

Main Duties

  1. Maintain internal security and control of the jail through regular interactions with inmates and monitoring from control rooms.
  2. Ensure inmates' basic needs are met, including physical safety and well-being.
  3. Enforce jail rules and regulations, applying positive or negative reinforcement as necessary.
  4. Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies and altercations.
  5. Perform searches of inmates and inmate areas to maintain security.

Necessary Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and enforce rules fairly.
  • Estimated Annual Salary: $71,471 - $92,119, depending on experience.
