Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Service Superintendent to join our team at the City of Westerville. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of public maintenance and construction practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee various maintenance and construction projects for the City.
  • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance supervisors and workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and construction strategies to ensure the City's infrastructure is well-maintained and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with City policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports and budgets to support decision-making and resource allocation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and 10 years of progressively responsible experience in utility maintenance and construction, including supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of public maintenance and construction practices, including safety protocols and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of employees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Valid Ohio commercial driver's license, or ability to obtain one within the first year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Water Distribution 2 and Wastewater 2 Collection licenses.
  • Experience with computer programs and software used for maintenance and construction management.
