Cytology Specialist

Job Summary:
The Cytologist/Cytotechnologist will be responsible for examining and studying cells to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently to interpret and classify cellular material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and study cells to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions
- Work independently to interpret and classify cellular material
- Collaborate with pathologists to ensure accurate diagnoses
- Develop and maintain knowledge of cytology techniques and best practices
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university
- CAAHEP accredited Cytology program completion
- Cytotechnologist (CT) certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or eligibility
- Effective communication skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to move, traverse, and position self for extended periods
- Focus on small objects for extended periods
- Finger dexterity and arm/hand steadiness
- Distinguish colors and possess visual acuity
