Cytologist/Cytotechnologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cytologist/Cytotechnologist to join our team at Lexington Clinic. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in examining and studying cells to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and study cells to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions.
  • Work independently interpreting and classifying cellular material preliminary to diagnosis by the Pathologist.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and physicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university and successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited Cytology program.
  • Cytotechnologist (CT) certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or eligibility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and physicians.
Physical Guidelines:

The Cytologist/Cytotechnologist must be able to:

  • Move, traverse, and position themselves for extended periods.
  • Focus on small objects for extended periods.
  • Use finger dexterity and arm/hand steadiness.
  • Distinguish colors.
  • Visual acuity.
