Mortgage Lender Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Lender to join our team at Bank Iowa Corporation. As a Mortgage Lender, you will be responsible for originating mortgage loans and promoting the bank's services to the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other referral sources to generate mortgage loan business.
  • Analyze financial and credit data, determine financing objectives, and advise on product options for prospective borrowers.
  • Guide clients through the loan application process and ensure all necessary documentation is collected.
  • Collaborate with underwriters to secure approval for loans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a financial institution or loan office setting.
  • Bilingual/Multilingual candidates preferred.
  • Ability to produce self-generated loans.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Register and obtain a unique identifier number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
