Mortgage Lender

A Mortgage Lender at Bank Iowa originates mortgage loans and promotes the bank and our services to the community. This role may also originate some agricultural and commercial loans. This role helps to identify and serve the community's financial needs through loan counseling, seminars and sales meetings, and by participating in and promoting the bank's community activities.
- Generate mortgage loan business by developing relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other referral sources.
- Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data, determine financing objectives, and advise on product options.
- Guide clients through the loan application process and ensure all necessary documentation is collected.
- Collaborate with underwriters to secure approval for loans.
Requirements
Skills/Experience You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field preferred
- 1-2 years' experience in a financial institution or loan office setting
- Bilingual/Multilingual candidates preferred.
- Ability to produce self-generated loans.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Register and obtain a unique identifier number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
