Job Summary:

As a Registered Staff Nurse with Sunlight Senior Living, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our clients. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can work collaboratively with our Director of Nursing to plan, coordinate, and manage our home care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Care: Ensure that the health and safety of all clients are met, and provide high-quality care that meets their individual needs.
  • Leadership and Management: Assist the Director of Nursing with planning, coordinating, and managing the home care service, and act within the Comprehensive Home Care regulations.
  • Service Delivery: Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and monitoring of home care service delivery under the direction of the Director of Health Services.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Must be licensed with the State of Minnesota as an RN, and must maintain current and unencumbered licensure.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license, if driving is required.
Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Sensitivity and Aptitude: Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
  • Communication Skills: Possess the skills to communicate effectively with those you supervise, clients, family members, and the Director of Nursing.
  • Leadership Skills: Possess leadership / supervisory skills.
  • Time Management: Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Flexibility: Able to work irregular hours, occasional weekends, and evenings.
Essential Job Functions and Tasks:
  • Compliance: Work within Home Care program guidelines including completing essential paperwork and complying with state regulations.
  • Facility Compliance: Works to assure facility is in compliance with federal state and local standards and regulations. Is available for license surveys.
  • Client Data: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current trends of Home Care.
  • Confidentiality: Works to maintain privacy and confidentiality of client, client's records and client living environments.
  • Communication: Is willing to carry a cell phone and be available for staffing and notifications.
  • Client Data: Communicates and documents client data to staff as needed.
  • Residency Requirements: Assures clients maintain residency requirements, monitors and recommend alternative placement if necessary.
  • Service Agreements: Reviews client service agreements with RN, as needed.
  • Client Charts: Monitors and maintains client charts and nursing notes.
  • Physician Communication: Communicates to physicians any changes in client's needs or conditions, as needed.
  • Medication Management: Monitors and follows thru with ordering medications and all medication renewals as well as any necessary follow-up with physicians regarding medications.
  • Pillbox Management: Fills weekly pillboxes for medication administration by unlicensed staff and checks new medications from the pharmacy.
  • Staff Communication: Communicates in staff communication book any information that staff needs to be aware of.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.
