Principal FPGA Digital Design Engineer

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Principal FPGA Digital Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing FPGA solutions for various applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in design architecture and ownership of RTL coding
- Perform synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and basic test bench development
- Lab testing and product support
- FPGA security and compliance
Requirements:
- 6+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree (less with an advanced degree)
- Current Security Clearance (Secret), or eligible to obtain one
- Experience in FPGA (preferred) or ASIC Design / Development
- VHDL (preferred) or Verilog HDL coding
- Experience with digital design tools and simulators
- Working knowledge of internal logic analyzer (ILA/chipscope/signaltap)
- Familiarity with static timing analysis tools and timing closure
- Experience with clock domain crossing techniques
- Experience with designer-level test bench (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog)
- Familiarity with revision control (GIT, CVS, Clearcase, Subversion, etc.)
- Strong debug and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter and a good team player
- Ability to mentor and willingness to be mentored
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hardware design and hands-on lab debug
- Experience with Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus
- Experience dealing with legacy designs
- Experience running digital simulations with Modelsim/QuestaSim
- Experience generating scripts (Perl, Tcl, Python, shell, etc.)
- Working knowledge of UVM/SystemVerilog and familiarity with design verification
- Working knowledge of C/C++
- Working knowledge of high-speed ADC/DAC interfaces, SERDES, PCIe
- Experience with DSP fundamentals – and FPGA implementation – as well as Matlab/Simulink a plus
