Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst II to enhance our expanding finance department. This individual will play a crucial role in the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, responsible for crafting financial forecasts and models that empower the organization to strategize effectively, make informed decisions, and optimize resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of NerdWallet's corporate financial forecast and overall fiscal outlook.
  • Evaluate financial opportunities and risks, analyze business metric trends, and assist in reporting to management and the Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to facilitate the monthly and quarterly closing processes, along with annual and strategic planning efforts.
  • Act as the financial liaison for G&A departments, providing support for monthly forecasts and annual planning, as well as strategic financial insights for departmental projects.
  • Assist the Investor Relations team with real-time and quarterly assessments of financial and non-financial trends.
  • Maintain our long-term financial model to ensure alignment with key strategic objectives.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on comprehensive financial analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal controls while contributing to process enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or Google Sheets and Slides.

  • Willingness to develop complex financial models.
  • Capability to collaborate across departments and levels to resolve issues and achieve objectives.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP.
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial role.
  • Previous experience in forecasting and maintaining financial models.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Pigment, Oracle ERP, or similar).
  • Possession of CPA and/or CFA designations is preferred.
