Job Summary:

Festival Foods is seeking a skilled Cashier to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a seamless shopping experience for our guests. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and providing assistance to guests as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Guests: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide assistance to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Efficient Transactions: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit, and debit payments.
  • Bagging and Merchandise Handling: Bag customer purchases and handle merchandise as needed to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, checkout lanes, and stockroom.
  • Communication: Relay customer requests and concerns to management as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Quality Standards: Meet quality and quantity standards, particularly during peak sales periods.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to engage with customers and provide outstanding service.
  • Retail Experience: Ability to process information and merchandise transactions, handle cash and credit payments, and operate a cash register.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Accuracy: Ability to read, count, and write accurately to ensure precise transactions.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate a cash register, scanner, and other equipment as needed.

Work Environment:

The Cashier position requires standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and lifting merchandise as needed. The ability to work varied hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also required.
