ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The partner institution offers innovative alternatives to conventional education, leveraging modern technology to enhance learning experiences. The Educational Intervention Coordinator is tasked with managing designated e-learning classes, where students may engage from home or in designated computer labs.
This role involves ensuring adherence to compliance standards for student special needs documentation, including IEPs and ETRs. The Coordinator will monitor and report on the academic progress of students within their caseload, as well as those in classes they instruct, while providing tailored instructional resources as specified in IEPs.
This position supports the administration in delivering effective educational services to partner institutions, utilizing technology to foster these relationships.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure compliance with student special needs documentation, including IEPs and ETRs.
- Utilize technology to identify, select, and adapt instructional materials to accommodate students with diverse backgrounds, learning preferences, and special needs.
- Track and report on student progress concerning all IEP goals and objectives for assigned students and in courses taught, using IEP reporting software and Student Information Systems.
- Draft and revise IEPs; lead and participate in IEP/ETR meetings; and deliver specialized instruction as outlined in IEPs.
- Implement engaging learning activities that foster an environment where students are actively involved in meaningful educational experiences and personalized instruction.
- Design and evaluate offline assignments, providing individualized feedback on student submissions and collaborating with faculty as necessary.
- Maintain regular communication with students and families, identifying those at risk of challenges related to attendance, participation, or academic progress.
- May act as a representative on the Credit Flex Committee.
- Develop strategies and methods to engage students and enhance motivation and productivity.
- Monitor and assess student progress in various learning environments.
- Make referrals as needed regarding academic, social/emotional, or technical challenges.
- Assist with student registration and participate in state testing preparation and administration.
- Support the administration in addressing the needs of partners, parents, and students.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from universal screenings and state-mandated assessments to identify intervention needs.
- Provide Response to Intervention (RTI) programming and instruction, including support for general education teachers implementing RTI.
- Collaborate with SAFE representatives to eliminate barriers to learning for students with special needs.
- Attend required online and in-person meetings and events, including graduation ceremonies.
- Ensure that program goals and objectives are achieved.
- Engage daily with all necessary organizational communication systems.
- Assist with state testing as required.
- Perform any related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a current Ohio teaching license (Education of the Handicapped K-12 license required; general education teaching license preferred).
- Understanding of the organizational environment.
- Knowledge of individualized instruction and accommodation/modification strategies to support student success in the least restrictive environment, including general education and/or resource settings.
- Proficiency in technology; access to high-speed Internet at home.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High degree of flexibility, collaborative skills, organizational abilities, and self-motivation.
- Effective communication skills with administration, staff, parents, and students, both orally and in writing, in electronic and hard copy formats.
- Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement; receptive to constructive feedback.
- Ability to work effectively from a home or regional office environment.
- Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
